With this noble cause Sri Siddhartha Education Society, Tumkur has been striving for several decades now. It was in the year 1959, Shikshana Bheeshma Sri H.M. Gangadhariah, a disciple of highly revered Acharya Vinoba Bhave, founded Sri Siddhartha Education Society. It all started with a residential school in the village of Gollahalli near Tumkur.
Today, through its educational service and social leadership Siddhartha Education Society has added new dimension to the personality of Tumkur. It has become a nerve centre for social, economic and educational transformations of the region. With a vision of "Entrancing Education to Reach the unreached" Sri Siddhartha Education Society is committed to provide wholesome, quality education, develop proactive responsible citizens and imbibe a sense of integral leadership and volunteerism for community development. Leadership always plays a vital role in this process and was carefully nurtured. The Society is fortunate enough to have two illustrious sons of the founder who are equally zealous and committed to the founder’s goals Late Dr. G. Shivaprasad, an eminent Ophthalmologist and Dr. G. Parameshwara, a reputed agriculture scientist and eminent educationalist.
